Verizon sent me this new router and finally fixed my DSL connection issues (it was going almost as slow as dial-up). Now my connection is so fast I can download HD movie trailers in minutes. However, my old port forwarding information is gone and I can't use P2P software like Limewire or Bittorrent, and I can't even use Xbox Live (I use the same network cable for my computer as for my Xbox, I just pop it out of one and into the other when needed).
So what I'm going to do is post a screenshot of what the set up looks like in the settings and maybe you guys could help. Someone told me for bittorent to use a port range of 49152 to 65534. And to make sure it's set to both TCP and UDP. However the other options "Base HostPort" and Direction / Port Direction I'm not sure what to use.
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn264/agvkrioni/portforwarding.gifWith the Direction choice you have "in" and "out" and if you choose the latter, two more options open up, "Src" and "Dst".
What I realized is that since you can't have both "in" and "out" for one setting, perhaps I have to open up those ports two times, one for in and one for out, maybe?
Also, and finally, when creating a new port forwarding option you can choose "Host" or "Dynamic". Which I don't know which one to use.
EDIT: Oh yes, Trillian also will not connect anymore either. So the programs I'm looking to fix is Bittorrent (v5.something), LimeWire, Trillian, and if able, XBox Live.
